Christians in the Archdiocese of Kampala and throughout the country of Uganda have been asked to actively participate in this reciting a Novena prayer for the Christian Unity and Installation of Archbishop Paul Ssemwogere who was appointed Pope Francis.
The Papal Nuncio to Uganda, Archbishop Luigi Bianco announced the appointment of Bishop Ssemwogerere on Thursday 9th December in the afternoon at Lubaga.
The Office of the Kampala Archbishop fell vacant on April 3rd, 2021, after the death of Archbishop Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga. Bishop Ssemwogerere was born on June 30th 1956 at Kisubi in the present-day Wakiso District.

PRAYER FOR THE NOVENA (16th -24th January 2022)
O God, Almighty and Merciful Father,
In your will, you gave us Jesus Christ your only begotten Son, as our Savior and Good Shepherd.
To continue this Mission for the salvation of all humanity,
He chose the Apostles, thus unifying all people into one Family through the Gospel.
As we pray for the growth of this very unity, we thank you for giving us Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere as our new Shepherd in Kampala Archdiocese.
May you help him in this service to strengthen us into that very Unity of Christ your Son, as to grow into his likeness, till we come to that perfect union of the Trinity in Eternity.
May Mother Mary, star of Evangelization and Our Ancestors, the Uganda Martyrs intercede for us.
