The Diocese of Masaka has been plunged into grief following the tragic death of Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Kalyesubula, who lost his life in a traggic road accident. The untimely passing of the priest has shocked the Catholic community, leaving fellow clergy, family members, friends, and faithful mourning the loss of a dedicated servant of God.

According to reports, Fr. Kalyesubula died after being involved in a fatal road accident when his car collided with a truck in Bukomansibi on his way back to Kitaasa Parish where he has been staying. News of his death spread quickly across the diocese, prompting an outpouring of condolences and prayers from Christians and well-wishers.
The Southern Regional Police Spokesperson, Twaha Kasirye, confirmed the incident, stating that Fr. Bonaventure Kalyesubula died instantly and police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
The Bishop of Masaka Diocese, Rt. Rev. Serverus Jjumba issued a statement announcing the tragic death of Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Kalyesubula in a motor accident on 17th June 2026. The funeral will take place on 19th June 2026, beginning with Holy Mass at 2:00 pm and will be burried at 04:00 pm in Bukalasa Minor Seminary Cemetery.
