The office of the Chancellor, or Chancery, is concerned with the official documents, including the archives of the Diocese. The Chancellor is the principal canonical notary of the Diocese, and the ordinary canonical notary for the official documents issued by the Bishop. The Chancellor also assists the Moderator of the Curia in the coordination of the pastoral activities of the curia and fulfills other duties as assigned by the Bishop.

Each individual parish keeps records of baptism, first communions, confirmations, marriages, and funerals. In order to obtain these records, you have to contact the Parish Priest. However, there is also a central filing system in the Diocesan Chancery. So if you have a problem of determining the address of the Parish, or if the parish is not listed, the Chancery will be happy to help you. You can reach the Diocesan Chancellor at chancery@masakadiocese.org
