St. Charles Lwanga Technical Institute, Butende celebrated 40 years of its existence since its inception in 1982. Celebrations were preceded by mass led by the Bishop of Masaka Diocese, Rt. Rev Serverus Jjumba assisted by the Principal Private Secretary, Rev. Fr. Mukalazi John Mary, the Diocesan Education Secretary, Rev Fr. Kamulegeya Micheal, the Diocesan Treasurer, Rev. Fr. Edward Anselm Ssemwogerere, the Chairperson Board of Governors, Rev. Fr. George William Lubega, the Institute’s Director, Rev. Fr. Kaganda Kizito, the Parish Priest Butende Parish, Rev. Fr. Ssemogerere Edward Timothy among other clergy.
