Masaka Catholic Diocese is large and diverse, with a wide variety of ministries. The Bishop’s Motto states:

Welcome to the official website of Masaka Diocese in Uganda. Masaka Diocese is composed of 57 Parishes and 9 Spiritual Centers from the 10 districts in the Greater Masaka Region of the Catholic faith in Uganda, constituted with the approval of the Holy See, through which the religious fathers, sisters, and brothers express their collegiate responsibility through collective action, to assure the progress of the Church and coordination of its social and pastoral ministry. It is headed by a Bishop who is elected by the Pope. He is assisted by an Executive Board, also chosen by the Bishop.

The Diocese of Masaka is located in the Southern part of Uganda, South of the Equator. It covers an area of 21,229 Sq. Km. It covers the civic Districts of Bukomansimbi, Kalangala, Kalungu, Kyotera, Lwengo, Lyantonde, Masaka, Rakai and Ssembabule.

Masaka Diocesan Synod VI

PROCLAMATION OF SYNOD VI OF MASAKA DIOCESE

On 24th November, Christ the King Sunday, Masaka Diocesan Day, The Bishop of Masaka Diocese, Rt. Rev. Serverus Jjumba declared 2025 as a year of convening Masaka Diocesan Synod. A diocesan synod is a special kind of meeting called by the diocesan Bishop when he feels a particular pastoral need or significant circumstances suggest to him that it is necessary to do so.

To be an evangelized and evangelizing Church, United, Co-Ordinated and Self Sustaining, Rooted in the Basic Christian Community.

MATERNITY OF OUR LADY NKONI PARISH CELEBRATIONS

The Bishop of Masaka Diocese, Rt. Rev. Serverus Jjumba was the Chief Guest at this year’s Bukalasa Seminary Day Celebrations. On this day all Old Boys of the seminary gather to celebrate. The function took place on Saturday 15th March 2025 at the seminary.

CELEBRATING ST. BAKHITA DAY AT THE RESOURCE CENTRE IN BWANDA

St. Charles Lwanga Girls Training Centre in Kalungu District held a ceremony of blessing their newly constructed chapel presided over by the Bishop of Masaka Diocese, Rt. Rev. Serverus Jjumba on  Saturday, March 8th 2025.
